Baauer had stepped out the lime light for a while following Harlem Shake and the Dum Dum ep, and wanted to drop something new for fans. Alongside throwing USBs of new music into the audience at shows, we were sat on 'Clang'; this amazing beat we'd had on file for a while - and we made a microsite which included Harry interviewing the original sample owner about recording the percussion featured on the song. We also asked created a text-to-speak input on the site, so that people could effectively beat box on Baauer.com by typing in drum sounds. If they got the drum pattern correct - and tweeted the phonetics of the song, a Clang-bot would DM people the song for free. The song has consequently been used in the promo of Marvel's Black Panther and continues to show up on rappers mixtapes. But here's the original at high bitrate.
